Review: Fashion 21 Leg foundation

hello again!

it has been a month since i purchased this

tadddaaa! Fashion 21 Leg Foundation! with tea tree oil, enhanced waterproof formula, and gives pearl shine.
hmmmm sounds good!

uhmm you see i do have bad skin condition. really sensitive skin. i was in college when i first sucked all courage and wore shorts little bit above the knee...

geez. apologies for my ugly leg *sigh*

moving on...

it contains mostly stuff i don't know how to pronounce, but i know tea tree oil and titanium dioxide is good. tea tree oil is for lightening blemishes and titanium dioxide is a must component of sunblock...

Directions:
apply generously to legs.
blend evenly with hands.
allow 3-4 minutes for leg foundation to settle on skin.

i'm really praying for this product to work... let's see.

Before. eww legs excuse my scar-marked leg.

btw, i dont wax my legs.

theres the foundation

shocked.... it turned out to be....pink @_@

why? oh why?

the product  is actually Cheap. 175 boom! it's really a steal, and quite a lot for 175... i think it  could last  for a couple of months of daily application.

on the other hand,
do not apply the product GENEROUSLY. it's not lotion that your skin will absorb immediately. its better to apply a bit and add more when needed.
and i prefer using sponge to blend other than my hand to blend the foundation. not the latex sponge. the foundation takes quite a while to dry and using your hands when blending may end up soiling your dress, your bed, your sofa, your towels, and everything else!

another tip is to apply setting powder with powder brush as the final step. it sets the foundation  and dries it faster.

i didnt expect it to be pinky shiny. i even thought it would be darker since the foundation looks tan initially.

true to its words, it gives pearl shine effect but really unecessary. i wish it has SPF other than pearls.

super waterproof!!!! yeah this is a must for night swimming.. not ....NOT for beach trips.. it doesn't have SPF....

one last look....before and after

enjoy the summer everyone.. stay safe

huggsss!

day before my graduation

this entry is originally written April 18, 2011

Supposedly, today must be my last day of acne surgery, but i guess it is not. I am 22 years old, fresh graduate and suffering from acne for 3 years now. Because of this acne invasion on my face, i never got enough courage to go out and look for a job. i'm so ashamed of my face.

When I was a college freshman,  most of my friends envy my face. they say it's smooth  and soft. since i'm on the heavy side, they say i look younger for my age.

i was 19 years old when i noticed zits starts to appear on my forehead. days passed and zits appeared to my nose down  to my chin. since they are not red or swollen and really small (but plenty),  i didn't give a big fuss about it. most of my zits then can be covered by powder and can be treated by my anti-acne cream. i just made sure that I stick to my skin care regimen. when i started to get used to my  face condition, cyst acne came. they are red, swollen and hard. mostly, they gave me headache. i  hate  it!

just before my  21st birthday, shit happened. my face started to have soft swollen bumps. some days after, i can see puss about to burst.

Eversince i  was in 6th grade,  my mom send me to  regualar  facials and professional  skin care specialist whenever my skin gets bad. we even go to dermatologist whenever things gets serious.

yes. i know. some of you may think that i'm giving a big deal and loud nag about my acne situation. "it's puberty. it'll pass. more people are having a bigger problem than a big  fat pimple."

i clearly understand,  and have  nothing against them. what frustrates me is that i'm seeking solutions, professional solutions to my acne  problem. i don't just sit and let puberty pass. i'm spending a fortune on it. i'm dealing with my problems. and that's how  it must be.. deal with your problems, no matter how big or small it is.

going back to my agonizing tale of skin condition. i've already been to 2 dermatologist, 1 internist, and 3 dermclinics on my journey  on finding the solution to my problem. all medications were prescribed and legally bought. i've gone  under  different treatments from deep scubs, chemical peel, glycolic  peel, and  acne  surgey. i also changed my diet. detox,  and  plenty of water. but not a success.

late march when i started acne surgery-glycolic peel-cystic shot procedure with my current dermatologist. i must say that my skin really improved. but when we started my consultation, she said that my face will be clearer by the day of my graduation.

my graduation is tomorrow  and my face  is no where clear.  it has  red bumps,  nasty nasty  acne, and nodules.

i'm really sad. i considered my treatments as an investment for my  confidence. after spending more than 30,000 on all medical procedure and medications, i'm still unfortunate for the day of my graduation. it's my graduation. i didn't care for my birthday, dates, parties, etc... i don't even have my graduation photo taken yet because i'm so ashamed of my acne invaded face.

every time, after my surgery, i can't help but cry... i don't  know  when will this  end. will i always go to doctor to  suck all the puss out of  my face? what if we don't have  money left  for these expensive procedures?

i can't go out on a regular  basis. i'm so ashamed of my face. i don't  cover my face with make up because i'm afraid that it might worsen my condition. i tried, whenever necessary, but the coverage was just not enough. i can't even go out with my mom for movies. and she labelled me "damaged". suits me well...damaged.

i didn't crammed to treat my face. the doctor even said that i gave her enough time to heal my face for the day of my graduation. i guess doctors charges us steep consultation fees in exchange of flickering hope to our deep dark problematic frustrations.

since i was 19, you'll find very few pictures with me on it. it's just to shameful to have a souvenir of this doomed face.

i just hold on to what the doctor said the very first  time i walked on to her clinic. right  after she pressed my inflammed cheek,  "there's still hope, you'll be ok"

after 2 months, 7 acne surgery, 4 glycolic peels, 15 antibiotic, 60 tetracyclines, thousands of pesos, and daily heavenly prayers, i'm still not ok.

i'll continue on taking my oral medications and procedures, as long as my mom can provide its costs. after that, i don't know what to do next.

i'm frustrated. i'm sad... i miss my smile and smiling in pictures.

review: OCEight mattifier

i have an oily face. seriously oily and i need help.

my dermatologists said that i can use oil control lotions, but we have to treat my acne first.

just when i have to attend some event, i'm having problems with my oily face. make up drips off my face :C

so i use mattifier just when i need to.

the first one, and only one that i used, so far is OCEight.

i dunno where OCEight is available locally, try asking it in your skin clinics.

i actually tried mostly half of the contents of the product before making this review. this is to make sure that i am truthful to my statements and not overwhelmed with what the product promises. sadly, i don't have pictures accompanying my experience. (sorry)
moving on, this is more than a purchase review.

the product.

ingredients:

Directions:

it's a 20ml tube containing the gel. nice and clean packaging.

the gel was a bit watery than i expected. a bit more like moisturizer consistency than of a gel that makes it easier to apply.
a little of the product really goes a long way.

it needs a good 1-2 minutes before being absorbed by the skin..  or maybe just to my skin, because i'm oily.

the mattifier is applied after sunblock and moisturizer and before your foundation. it was also written in the package that you can reapply if necessary.
so, it works like a primer...

the result...

OCeight is true to it's promise of oil control...

oil control lasted for hours! 5hrs almost to me. (the product promises up to 8 hours of matte skin)
i'm still pleased.

i'm on a love and hate relationship with this product.

LOVE

mattes my skin...maybe it will last longer if i'm staying on a cooler place or airconditionded room without anything to do. it may work on formal events without dancing, a dinner or movie night maybe.

loving the super cool feeling upon application. so refreshing!

works well with liquid and mineral foundations

HATE

this product costs me quite a fortune (1000+)... super steep! and super small...

not for superhumid country like the Philippines. sad

when the gel dries, it looks almost like thin skin layer. so puting on cake foundation might remove the gel that looks like peeling skin.

this is an investment for me.

but if you're not bothered with your face in terms of its oil, i suggest for you to skip this.

and if your face is not that oily and you want to control it, oil control lotions are highly recommended as primer.

i'm still looking for a oil control lotion suited for me.
i wish to try oil control lotions from MAC, MaryKay, and any other brands out there.

i want to try other mattifier also... i read from other blogs that urbandecay works well. i want to try avon make up fix and MaryKay's as well...

i really need some help.... :(

happy easter!

it's resurrection Sunday! Jesus is alive....and eggs are everywhere again.

so, how did Jesus and eggs became associated anyway, especially during easter sundays?

Easter has said to come from the word Eostre, Osatara or Ishta, which are variations of the name of Pagan Goddess of Spring.

Easter is always on the first Sunday following the full moon that occurs on or following the spring equinox, which is an important celebration to culture and beliefs and was held years before Christ.

and for eggs...Eggs have been the symbol of Fertility throughout the ages. Christians sees it as symbol of new life...which brings us back to resurrection of Christ, and God's gift of new life to us in exchange of His holy son's life. During the Middle ages, decorated eggs were given as gifts during celebration of Spring equinox and New year as symbol of new life.

There are other traditions held during the celebration of easter such as easter parade, easter egg hunt, hot cross buns and even easter bunnies. But what ever it means, where it came from, or how it started, it all represent the new, promising, and bountiful beginning of life our Lord gave us.

it's a new beginning.

Happy Easter to us!

Utang na loob is a derivative of the word Utang.

Utang = Debt

It is a form of assistance.

here comes utang na loob:

Utang na loob = took by someone that cannot be replaced. hindi kayang ibalik, bayaran o palitan.

mejo may issue lang ako sa word na took dun sa definition. i must say that it must be changed to GIVEN.

Utang na loob = given to someone that cannot be replaced. hindi kayang ibalik, bayaran o palitan.

1. kusa itong ibinibigay. choice mo kasi kung ibibigay mo o hindi ang tulong na kailangan ng isang tao. i believe you are unaware of the help you are giving. it could be of a big deal or nothing at all.

2. imaterial. it is not about the form, it's about the value. nangutang ka ng pera sa kumpare mo para maoperahan ang anak mo. gumaling ang anak mo.

Palibhasa Pinoy, we care so much of the thought not the cost. we value of the kindness and effort other than the volume and weight (literally).

kunwari, gutom ka. mas may value sa'yo ang isang luma at matigas na pan de sal kaysa isang buffet table pero busog na busog ka naman. tulad ng laging  sinasagot sa mga interviews, it depends on the occasion, it's a case to case basis.

i see... it's about the urgency din pala. it is help when it is done the moment when it is needed, otherwise, it's just a thought.

it might be because of those who struggle na singilin ang utang na loob. try as you can,  with all of your might, sadly to say, you will never succeed.

yah yah yah i know, many will disagree with me on this... lalo na sa bayaran part. naiintindihan ko kayo. ang sa akin lang, Give and take lang yan.. it could be of the same, or other people.

utang na loob usually comes with a major life changing  event a person encounters.

and since we are Pilipinos, we live by these phrase,  understood its meaning without convention, integrated with the environment, derived by our neighbors, chiseled by our daily life challenges.

mahirap mabuhay.  i mean, its a hard life, and Filipino values (err... still  not sure if values, or norm, or customs ????) such as utang na loob makes our being Pilipino truly Pilipino. i'm proud to say:

Likas sa Pilipino ang tumulong nang walang hinihintay na kapalit.

Ano sa tingin n'yo? utang na loob. is it a bad thing? or a good thing?

i say, it's a Filipino thing.

...
